Overview
What is the definition of home?
Sociologists say “The home is the simplest and smallest unit of society and the real fountain of culture.”; marriage experts say that home is a world of two people who connect closely with each other; writers say that home is a group of pigs under the treasure cover which the Chinese character “家” means. But what exactly is home?
After I went abroad to study away from my parents, I pondered this question countless times. If home is just a shelter from the bad weather, can my apartment in New York count as my home? If home is where parents are, can the hotel I stay in when I travel with my parents count as home? I often see some friends sending a message at night saying that he/she is missing home, what are they really missing? Is it the delicious food? Or a familiar language? Or the concern of parents?
For me, home may be a kind of lifestyle, which means in a familiar place, facing familiar people, doing familiar things. Home is a comfort zone of the mind, not a specific place or a specific person. As long as you feel at home, there is a home.
Now, homesick is the first problem that many international students have to face when they come to an unfamiliar environment. Depending on each individual's circumstances, it can be ignored or it can seriously affect life. In this project, I hope that the distance between people will not be hindered by the distance of reality, and the feeling of home will not be weakened by the distance as well. How to create inadvertently, integrate the design of the home into the lifestyle, and turn it into a habit and system that does not require operation is the purpose of my research. The home olfactory system I designed in this project can ignore the difference of time and space, keep human, objects, and events closely connected, and experience every behavior through the breath.

Case Analysis
According to Jinsop Lee’s five senses theory, “five senses graph” can be applied to case analysis and user experience testing. Users can be asked to review the applications under test and map them on a scale of 1-10 on all five senses. The broader the area covered, the better the experience.
