Crowdsourcing brings people from different fields together to collaborate and generate diversed solutions for tough real-world problems. Generative art, as a synthetic product of autonomous systems and artists, has been widely utilized and invested in the NFT market. While today’s open source platforms for Generative Art, such as Open Processing, have made it more accessible for coders and artists to learn and collaborate, it is violating the intelligence property of the art pieces to some extend due to the fact that codes could be easily spread and copied. This raises a question about whether codes of Generative Art pieces should be kept as an open source or should be protected as a digital asset.
